Toronto photographer Tom Sandler shares his memories of shooting Queen Elizabeth.


Queen Elizabeth may have been one of the most photographed people in the world. Toronto-based photographer Tom Sandler was responsible for some of those portraits. This week, he’s been working at the Toronto International Film Festival shooting celebrities. He stopped by to chat with Tom Power about what it was like photographing the Queen and other members of the royal family.

Amber Bracken was one of dozens of photographers from near and far who descended on the grounds of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, outside Kamloops, British Columbia, in May 2021 to photograph the unthinkable — the devastating loss, trauma and tragedy of the discovery of the unidentified remains of 215 Indigenous children buried at the site.
