New Events and Reminders

Concordia Greenhouse:

This year, the Concordia Greenhouse would like to thank the urban agriculture community, food security groups, non-profit organizations that have gardens, our regular customers, and so many other folks who have made the seedling event and sale the astronomical success it has become over the years. To show our appreciation, this year’s seedling sale will be a charitable event where the Concordia Greenhouse is offering all of its seedlings free of charge to food security groups and non-profits that have a food security mandate or include it as a part of their programming.

Tuesday, May 23 to Friday, May 26 11:00 AM -6:00 PM. Pavillion Henry F.Hall Bldg, Boul. de Maisonneuve Ouest, 13th floor, Montreal.

For her latest project, master animator, Janet Perlman, pitched a folk tune and um...nothing else. On a visit to the National Film Board in the 70s, Janet Perlman says she and her art school classmates swore they would sweep floors if it meant they could work there. Soon after, she got a job at the animation studio, got an Oscar nomination for one of her earliest films and today, Janet Perlman is considered a master in animation filmmaking. she talks about her seemingly accidental journey to the artform, her three plus decades in the industry and how she pitched a folk song about Montreal as an idea for an NFB animated film.
