Happy Mother's Day!

Haitian artists will step into the spotlight in the Quartier des spectacles this weekend for the very first Salon Haïtien de la Culture. It's a free, three-day celebration. We'll speak with the organizer, Roxane Ledan.

The Montreal-based initiative "Crafted for Courage" is once again inviting people to contribute to the making of handmade knitted and crocheted blankets to raise awareness and funds to support survivors of violence. An original Canadian musical is coming to Montreal. “Grow” is about 19-year-old Amish twins, Hannah and Ruth, who set out to experience life outside of their Amish community. It’s on from May 24th to June 14th. We speak with Matt Murray who wrote the book for the musical.

Abbas Akhavan will represent Canada at the Venice Biennale in 2026. Multidisciplinary artist known for site-responsive work, will turn his attention to the national pavilion.

 

 

 

Concordia alum Abbas Akhavan to represent Canada at the 2026 Venice Biennale. Backed by the Faculty of Fine Arts, Akhavan will showcase the global reach of Concordia’s artistic community at the world’s leading contemporary art exhibition.
