Lucie Lacava is a Canadian artist based in Westmount, working primarily in acrylics. Born in Italy and raised in Switzerland, her early life was defined by migration and cultural transition. Introduced to watercolour at the age of five, Lacava developed an enduring sensitivity to fluidity and light—experiences that cultivated a lifelong fascination with duality, adaptation, and impermanence.

She holds a BFA from Concordia University and began her professional career as Art Director at the Montreal Gazette, where she honed a disciplined approach to composition and visual narrative. This foundation remains evident in the structural clarity and refined restraint of her paintings, which bridge European heritage with contemporary North American sensibilities.

Her favorite subjects are cloudscapes and flora. Using flora as both subject and metaphor, Lacava explores the intersection of earthly beauty and the human condition. Her practice reflects on the transient nature of existence—how forms open, reveal themselves, and change over time.
