From Fogo Island Arts:

Fogo Island Art’s digital program Lost & Found Agency presents The problem of sandboxes and timeframes, a talk with Paul Kolling. In early 2016, Paul Kolling and his collaborators published a paper discussing “how a forest can own and utilize itself” and founded the Berlin-based art group called terra0 with the aim to readdress concepts of (land) ownership, legal personhood and democratic governance in the context of German ecosystems. Since then, terra0 has always walked at the crossroads between art project and business, ecological and economic promises, but ultimately chose the art world as a testing ground for its ideas. In this talk, Paul will look at this decision through the lens of several terra0 projects and draw an arc to a general debate about what art can do, if “art can do anything”.

Saturday March 25, 2023, 11 AM EST / 12.30 pm NL / 4 PM CET

At the Guild:

La Guilde, 1356 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal, Quebec H3G 1J1 (next to the MMFA) has a small exhibit on the history of The Guild where WASM and its founders figure prominently. It is interesting to note the changes that The Guild has endured as WASM faces similar issues.

Due to the overwhelming response to LASTING IMPRESSIONS, we proudly announce that the event has been extended. The public, which has responded in massive numbers, can now experience this unique 3D Holographic production until April 24th at the Studio-Cabaret.

"Lasting Impressions lives up to its title… in terms of escaping winter doldrums here, there's little to beat this foray into the work of the world's most iconic Impressionists. As an added incentive, patrons can quaff wine and nibble on charcuteries and cheese while catching the spectacle. The audience is … surrounded by more than 100 larger-than-life paintings that will last in the minds of awestruck spectators for months to come." — Bill Brownstein, Montreal Gazette.

Arts News:

Art fraud is big business especially when it concerns indigenous art. It was a crime that shook the art world. One hundred million dollars in suspected forgeries, over 1000 more fakes seized and 8 arrests in a far-reaching forgery ring of renowned Ojibwa artist Norval Morrisseau’s work.
