The Montreal Council of Women is delighted to invite you to a special luncheon on May 26 to honour two special women for their exceptional contribution to the arts and to their communities. Our honorees are Beatrice Deer representing the performing arts and Nedia El Khouri representing the visual arts.


Please save the date - May 26th, 2024, at 12:00PM on your calendars and register as soon as possible by clicking on the registration link. Kindly note that payment of $75 must be received no later than May 20 to guarantee your spot, which includes a cocktail, soup or salad, main course, dessert, and coffee. There will be a cash bar on site. Parking will be available for $10. We look forward to welcoming you at L'Ambroisie et L'Espace Canal to enjoy a cocktail overlooking the Lachine Canal at noon following registration starting at 11:30 a.m.

Sonali Karnick speaks with the Director of Heritage Programs for The Friends of the Mount Royal Cemetery about commemorating their 25th anniversary. Myriam Cloutier describes the work they do to preserve headstones and monuments as well as landscaping projects to improve the environment. She also talks about the special tour for the event that includes historical reenactments of some of people buried at the cemetery.

CBC host, comedian and writer, Ali Hassan, talks about the film he co-wrote that is having its world premiere on May 24th in Montreal. The Indo-Canadian production tells the true story of a group of wedding vendors who robbed their clients’ houses. A completely independent film, Ali also talks about the amazing cast that came together to make it happen.
