In the new sci-fi drama "Seeker" at the Centaur Theatre, two exes are thrown together by the US military to solve a mystery that could affect the future of humanity. It’s an English translation of a French-language script that won the Michel Tremblay Award for Best New Play. We speak with director Rebecca Gibian about how this story is brought to life on stage.

Music:

 

Festival de la Voix celebrates season 13 with music every weekend in April, from the 4th to the 28th (plus a few weekday concerts). Primarily in the West Island, on offer are 10 eclectic, multi-artist concerts including choirs, jazz, big bands, the music of Santana, folk, family sing-alongs, Celtic music, Indigenous songs, classical music and workshops, showcasing both established and emerging Québecois, Indigenous and Canadian artists. Keeping it in the family are the children of well-known musicians—Jason Lang (Penny Lang) and Aleksi Campagne (Connie Kaldor and Paul Campagne).

Arts news:

 

Didier Morelli - Didier Morelli is a curator, performance and art historian, cultural critic and visual artist. A Scholar in Residence at Concordia University in Art History and previously the associate editor at Espace art actuel, his writing has appeared in numerous art and performance magazines, journals and publications. Morelli is the curator of the 2026 MANIF, the Quebec City Biennial, which is titled “Briser la glace/Splitting Ice,” as well as "Street Actions: Women Performing on the Streets" at Centre d'art contemporain Optica in Montreal.

 

Winter is not over yet - and over sixty artists are presenting works to help you celebrate the coming weeks of cold, snow and ice. The Quebec City Biennial explores Splitting Ice / Briser la glace through a poetic and political reflection on winter, with performances and installations that will surprise and delight you. Didier Morelli is the curator of the 12th edition of this winter classic and tells Julia Caron what we can expect in the coming days and weeks.
