Nathalie Bellier (Thalz)

The sculpture is a call to express one's worldview. Signing under the name Thalz, the letter z marks a renewal in her life journey, for before dedicating herself to art, Thalz spent 32 enriching years in engineering. Parallel to her career, Thalz attended various courses and workshops at art schools, alongside inspiring artists. These trainings, ranging from the Segal Center (Saidye-Bronfman Arts Center), through the School of Visual Arts at UQAM, to the School of Fine Arts in Montreal, reinforced her passion for art.
Her style is characterized by the representation of the human body. She works with clay and bronze to explore vulnerability and beauty. The plasticity of clay allows her to explore the delicate balance in movement, while bronze offers timeless anchorage. Each creation illustrates human duality, in a context where belief challenges knowledge, where tradition confronts evolution. Her themes touch on nature, the receding rights of women worldwide, and climate change. Through her sculptures, Thalz aspires to evoke an emotion, to touch the viewer, and to contribute, in her own way, to becoming an artisan of change.
