My Body is not a Toxic Dump Deena Dlusy-Apel .jpg

I have painted all my life and have had the pleasure of teaching all levels of students from preschool to university.  I ended my career supervising the art education students at Concordia.  I have an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and an MA in Art Education, both from Concordia, and spent 2 years in the Art School at the University of Waterloo. where I completed a body of work based on my personal experience with breast cancer. This body of work was the basis of my Master's thesis and reflects my work as an activist  with BCAQ, a group devoted to the political struggle involved with the removal of harmful chemicals from our environment.

My husband and I have travelled extensively through Southeast Asia, and  this experience has impacted my work as well. I have exhibited extensively over the years  in group shows and  and have received recognition at a personal level.

My husband and I are currently working on our third documentary film which will premiere in November.
